K. Simonov began his literary career as a poet and entered literature in verse. The poem "Wait for Me" (written in the summer of 1941) touched the hearts of thousands of people and instantly became widely known.

The poet found simple words that every soldier could consider his own: it was a request to the wife, to the bride, to the beloved, to the one who is waiting at home. During the event, the second-year students got acquainted with the history of the creation of the poem. The video "K." was presented to the attention of the students. Simonov's poem "Wait for me..." is read by Vladimir Antonik.

After the end of the war, Simonov traveled a lot around the country as a correspondent for the newspaper Pravda. Interest was aroused by the story of two visits of K. Simonov to Kostanay, which were consecrated by Vladimir Motoriko on the pages of the newspaper "Kostanay News" These are articles: "Poems and space. And the war..." and "A watchmaker from a household factory." The story of the poet's first arrival is connected with the landing of a spaceship in the Kostanay steppe. It was in October 1964, when a three-person crew went into space for the first time. An essay about the landing of a spaceship was included in a book called "The First Hours on Earth."

K. Simonov's second visit to Kostanay was connected with the war. He came to Presnogorkovka to meet Nikolai Sergeyevich Stulintsev, a watchmaker, and hear firsthand how he and his comrades worked for our intelligence from Nazi captivity.

With these stories of Konstantin Simonov's two visits, the children learned how the famous poet and journalist worked. He took his plots from life, checking each fact personally.
